Book on Tirumala's grandeur released
 
MYTHICAL NARRATIVE: The authors -- T. Sarita Reddy and Birad Yajnik - during the book release function in Hyderabad on Sunday.

An art book on Lord Venkateshwara was released by the Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, here on Sunday. The Endowments Minister, M. Satyanarayana Rao, was present. Titled `Tirumala Tirupati the legends and beyond`, the book attempts at tracing the legends behind the popularity of the shrine through a beautiful compilation of 250 photographs, illustrations and architectural drawings woven together with historic facts. "It is an attempt to create an object of memorabilia that is both engaging in content and vivid in portrayal", say T. Sarita Reddy and Birad Yajnik.

Sunday wasn't a quiet, sit-at-home day as Sarita Reddy and Birad Yajnik launched their book Tirupati - The Legends and Beyond at the Kakatiya. It looked like the whole of Hyderabad had turned up for the event as everyone from the Governor Sushil kumar Shinde, Endowments Minister M. Satyanarayana Rao, badminton champ Gopichand, fitness guru Dinaz Vervatwalla, all the Reddy's in town to apna Page 3 regulars were present.

HYDERABAD: Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde has urged the historians of the country to promote Indian heritage and culture across the world by writing books. He released 'Tirumala Tirupati-The Legends and Beyond', a picturesque book with the legends and history of Lord Venkateswara and Tirumala Tirupati here on Sunday. It was authored by T Sarita Reddy and Birad Rajaram Yajnik Earlier, speaking to newsmen the authors said that the book will aid in promoting tourism in the State. It took about six months for the book to be done with 250 rare images and artwork. The book, priced at Rs 3,600, and is published by city-based Visual Quest India.
